The Long Weekend Stretches On

July 2, 1938

Their friends T&T invite them for a car ride in their new Packard Eight, which they drove down from Seattle. They go to the beach.

T2 has been prattling on about their vacation, T1 tells J. all about the car. Both conversations have her alternating between boredom and envy. It’s the camera. Why does T2 own it? She doesn’t really know how to use it, or appreciate photography. Nothing like A. She sulks.

They get to the beach. She notices a seal. Forgives T2.
