The cake turned out surprisingly well. It didn’t look exactly like in the magazine, but when does it?
She added a secret ingredient – applesauce, there was some frozen. J. never noticed the sweetness difference.
Tomorrow the long weekend begins. Dominion Day.
They don’t have specific plans. She hasn’t been thinking about holidays–just getting a job. Her aunt in New Westminster will want to see them. And then there are several friends they haven’t seen in ages. Two invites to BBQs. There is a parade. She starts to get agitated thinking about all the obligations.
Can she persuade J. that they should do nothing.
Have a picnic on the beach, or the park, or even the backyard.
