Gone Fishing

July 18, 1938

JULY18FISHING

J. unexpectedly has the afternoon off. Things at work are a bit slower in the summer and his boss had to go out of town. So he decided to send everyone home two hours early. They go for a walk by the water.

A boy is fishing.

This sparks a conversation about the summer vacation they have not yet planned. There are relatives in Victoria and some family in Kelowna. One of them works in the winery. That might be fun, she suggests.

J. is leaning towards Victoria. He spouts off his reasons.

Meanwhile she is looking at the young boy, wondering what it would be like to have children.
