July 1, 1938
Dominion Day.

[Side Note: For history buffs – the image has been created from two sources: City of Vancouver archives – Stan Williams, photographer, taken on July 1st, 1938. And the image of the mayor from the Grandview Heritage group blog, which offers a most thorough and detailed history of the 1st avenue viaduct.
